The Esterel massif is one of the largest European massifs of the Primary era: its rugged relief and wide variety of colours testify to its volcanic past. Over 97,000 hectares, 14,000 of which are classified in the Var and Alpes Maritimes departments, it is dominated by Mont Vinaigre, the highest peak at 614 m above sea level.

The massif is the real green lung of the French Riviera; it serves as a natural refuge for wildlife: wild boars, deer, roe deer, small mammals, reptiles… and offers an exceptional flora in all seasons, mimosas, orchids, pink cistus, eucalyptus, giant euphorbia, rose laurels in the valleys etc…
